Week 5, Third Nine Weeks

Reading: This week, the students are starting book clubs.  They will be reading different books in small groups and discussing the books together.  They will be choosing vocabulary words to study along the way as well as characters to profile.

Language: The students will have a test on adverbs on Wednesday.  There are some links on Schoology that they can use to study.  We will also be working on our hero essays this week.

Math: The students have been working on the division menu this week while working on strategies to divide.  They are doing a great job of using what they know about multiplication to help them solve problems.

Science: This week, students will be learning about circuits, insulators and conductors.  Today, we used batteries to make a regular-sized light bulb light.  How many did it take?  Ask a fourth grader, I think the number will surprise you!

Alabama History: We will be discussing frontier Alabama and the important people that were involved in running our state in its earliest years.
