4th Nine Weeks: Week 8

There are only 8 school days left - wow!  Where did the time go?  We've got a busy couple of weeks full of  celebrations and reflecting on the year.

In the Tuesday Communicator, there will be information about visiting the Wax Museum.  General information though is that we will be open from 8:45 - 2:10 (in 15 minute increments) with a lunch break from 12 - 1:15.  Please join us and bring a smart phone/device so you can get the QR Code of presentations and look at them later.  Students should come to school in their costumes and bring a bottle of water and/or Gatorade.

Reading - We are continuing to read chapter books in small groups and discuss them.  The students are having great, meaningful discussions about these books!

Spelling - This is our last spelling list of the year, and one of the hardest.  All of this week's spelling words have a silent consonant.

Writing - The students are editing and putting the final touches on their persuasive essays, convincing others to read their favorite books.

Math - Geometry is the focus as we are measuring angles, finding the value of unknown angles and examining different types of lines such as parallel and perpendicular.

Alabama History - Much of our focus has been on the Wax Museum, but we are also continuing to study the dawning of the 20th century by looking at the rights of women and African Americans as well as new technology that was developed at this time.

Science - Students will be learning all about complete and incomplete metamorphosis.
